Crazy the World
In oceans of feeling and currents of love
The bright full moon rises and turns in the sky
The mad ones who seek neither favor nor gain
Are the children of Tsogyel’s immaculate joy

Mad is the world lost in its seeking
Mad are the pundits who choke on their knowledge
Mad are the priests who sell sweetened bondage
Mad are the yogis who dance in your joy

Wisdom burns bright in the heart’s exaltation
Compassion flows free in the one filled with joy
In the infinite union beyond separation
Dance vow-holding yogins in deathless delight

Crazy the world which clings to appearance
Crazy the mind that builds castles from air
Crazy the grasping of fretful religion
And crazy the beggar who delights without cares

The eye of discernment and heart of abandon
Meet in the currents of the ocean of love
Waves of pure feelings and tides of perception
Frolic and sport in the realms of vast joy

Mad is the world lost in its seeking
Mad are the pundits who choke on their knowledge
Mad are the priests who sell sweetened bondage
Mad are the yogis who dance in your joy

The pious are liars, the lofty demented
The fools and the jesters of endless illusion
Come dance in the wonder and dance in the mystery
Come fall without question into the bowl of the sky

Crazy the world which clings to appearance
Crazy the mind that builds castles from air
Crazy the grasping of fretful religion
And crazy the beggar who delights without cares

Oh monks dressed in finery, great kings of delusion
And nihilist fools who enshrine their confusion
You dance both together tied one to the other
Selling tinsel for gold in the realm of the dead

Mad is the world lost in its seeking
Mad are the pundits who choke on their knowledge
Mad are the priests who sell sweetened bondage
Mad are the yogis who dance in your joy

Why reject what is powerless or grasp to illusion
Frauds in a frauds world debating delusions
Cast off your status and break free of clinging
Come dance in the nectar that flows and is sweet.

Crazy the world which clings to appearance
Crazy the mind that builds castles from air
Crazy the grasping of fretful religion
And crazy the beggar who delights without cares
